Invisible Threads: Portraits and Stories of Our Global Neighbors is a collaborative portrait and narrative project offering an intimate look into the lives of people from around the world who have made Cape Cod their home.
Created through a shared process between photographer Julia Cumes, lighting director and visual collaborator Lipe Borges, and the subjects themselves, the portraits are intentionally constructed through conversation, trust, and personal choice. Together, the photographs and stories explore identity, resilience, belonging, and the experiences that connect us across cultures and borders.
