Surrounded by mannequins and bright fabrics in his Hyannis studio, fashion designer Kenard Taylor wears one of his upcycled designs inspired by the colors of his Jamaican childhood. After immigrating to Georgia at seven and facing bullying for his accent, he found confidence in creativity. Discovering an old sewing machine during the pandemic changed his path. Since launching Ken Tailor, he’s shown work across Cape Cod and at New York Fashion Week, envisioning a global future for his brand.
Narrative Portraits: Your Story in a Single Frame
These are not just portraits—they are visual stories. Our Narrative Portrait sessions are immersive and collaborative, designed to create iconic, emotionally resonant images that reflect who you are and what matters most to you. We like to think of them as pieces of art—carefully crafted, deeply personal, and meant to be lived with.
This offering is ideal for:
Creatives and entrepreneurs wanting to express their brand identity
Nonprofit or mission-driven leaders seeking images with emotional impact
Artists, performers, or thought leaders needing a portrait that stands apart
Families capturing a generational or cultural legacy
Before the shoot, we’ll meet with you to brainstorm the story you want to tell—whether it's for your business, personal brand, organization, creative practice or family legacy. Together, we’ll shape the concept through discussion of visual symbolism, color palette, wardrobe, location, and tone. Once the vision is clear, we scout the space and design the lighting—sometimes using up to seven lights—to bring the story to life.
On shoot day, we take the time to get everything just right. Most of the session is spent setting up and fine-tuning the scene so that when it’s time to photograph, we can move with intention and ease. You won’t be in front of the camera the entire time.
Sessions typically run 2–4 hours depending on complexity.
We offer sliding scale rates for individuals, families, and nonprofits with limited budgets.
Every session includes:
Pre-shoot consultation (concept development + visual strategy)
Location scouting
2–4 hour photo shoot with multi-light setups
Post-production and delivery of fully retouched images
Option to purchase additional retouched images
Optional Add-ons:
Hair and makeup artist coordination
Additional locations or subjects
Behind-the-scenes video of the shoot
