Koh Lanta, Thailand--Claud Williams (left), David Karam (center) and George Johnson (right) use a flexible tube with water in to level a new house in the village of Hua Laem on Koh Lanta island, Thailand. Many of the village's homes and boats were destroyed in the Tsunami. Williams and Johnson are volunteer members of the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief group. The group, which is made up mostly of men between the ages of 65 and 80, had been traveling through Southern Thailand for a few days looking for somewhere to help but had been turned down everywhere while communities waited for government intervention. David Karam, of Brewster, MA, ran into them in Koh Lanta's biggest town, Sa La Dan and brought them over to Hua Laem where they helped with clean-up and construction of new homes. 01/27/05 © Julia Cumes / The Image Works
