Kimo Ho'opai Snr's helps out at a branding on Ponoholo Ranch in North Kohala, Hawaii. The patriarch of a four generation Paniolo family, Ho'opai started working as a cowboy a half century ago. His sons, Kimo and Bernard and grandsons, Jesse and Shane, all currently work as cowboys. He suffered many injuries during his long career as a cowboy and among other things, today he struggles to rope calves because of an arm injury.
