I first fell in love with traveling when I was about seven years-old and my family spent a few months traveling through Europe back-pack style. Having grown up in South Africa, I was awe-struck by how much bigger, more complex and beautiful the world suddenly was. Since becoming a photographer, my passion for travel has only grown. I think photographing while traveling forces one to seek out authentic experiences and really see the details that make each place unique. Whether photographing in the old world cities of Morocco, on the plains of the Serengeti, inside crowded market places in India or in the rice paddies of Bali, I try to capture a sense of place and moment. With this particular collection of images, I hope to present viewers with a version of the world they may not otherwise see and engage them in dialog about this extraordinary and vulnerable planet we live on and how important its preservation is.
